Francesco Clark’s Inspiring Journey From tragedy to Triumph

Francesco Clark was 24 years old with a promising career at Harper’s Bazaar when his entire world was turned upside-down. On June 1, 2002, Francesco dove headfirst into a swimming pool and crashed into the bottom. He became paralyzed from the neck down. Surgeons told his parents, “he will never breathe, talk or move his arms (on his own) – and forget about his legs.”

His skin, now permanently impacted, was prone to breakouts, dry patches, and redness, creating a perfect storm of ongoing ailments. Francesco enlisted the help of his father, a medical doctor trained in homeopathy, to heal his skin.

After five years and 78 formulations, a star was born: Jasmine Absolute, the proprietary ingredient of Clark’s Botanicals 1.0 that turned back the clock on Francesco’s prematurely aging skin. The discovery of Jasmine Absolute provided the catalyst for Francesco to adopt a daily holistic self-care regimen that changed his life. Jasmine’s potent and reliable anti-bacterial, antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory properties protect, regulate and calm the skin, allowing for more aggressive ingredients to bring about their changes without irritation. It’s our hero ingredients ultimately corrected and revitalized his complexion giving him the confidence to live his best life.

With that, Smoothing Marine Cream and, ultimately, Clark’s Botanicals was born.

From the brand’s outset, Francesco committed to giving back to the community that inspired him. Clark’s Botanicals is a committed donor to the Christopher & Dana Reeve Foundation and more recently to Northwell Health and Montefiore Medical Center.

Fast forward to today and the new Clark’s Botanicals: the most effective clean skincare brand with a foundation in holistic self-care and wellness. This is what beauty means to us: the transformative nature of how a small, positive change in the way you treat yourself each day can create a foundation for self-fulfillment and empowerment.
