Why Parents of Two Children with Rare Disease Are Fighting to Save a Stranger with It
Kristi and Kelly Ouimet are the parents to three amazing children. Two of them were diagnosed with an extremely rare condition called primary hyperoxaluria type 1 (PH1), a life-threatening liver condition. The lack of resources for the disease led Kristi to start a support group and connected them with strangers around the world, including Govinda Regmi. The Nepal native was suffering from the same condition and losing hope. Kristi, Kelly, Govinda, and their families join us to talk about fighting for survival and how Kristi secured a visa for Govinda to come stay with them to receive the treatment he needed.
