Matthew Rushin, the young Black Virginia man with autism who was pardoned for his involvement in two car crashes— and his mother, Lavern, join “Tamron Hall.” Matthew was sentenced to 10 years in prison after the 2019 crashes left two people seriously injured. Matthew’s case became nationally known with celebrities petitioning for his release. After being released in March of 2021, Matthew and his family are speaking up about the controversial case in hopes of helping others.
